I learned a big lesson over the weekend, I needed bigger shoes. That was the reason my big toes were taking a beating. My feet would swell and my big toes would rub up against the leather part of my shoes instead of the soft meshy part. I bought bigger shoes (8 1/2) on Sunday. This helped out tremendously. They really meant it when they said to go 1 full size bigger when buying running shoes.
My ankle was a little tender when I woke up, but my toe is now feeling really really good. I went out for a 5 mile run down Waikiki. 5 miles puts me at the edge of Waikiki near the Kapiolani Park. It was good to see more of Waikiki, it's so beautiful in the morning. I didn't really feel pain in my toe or ankle or knees, so it was a good run. After the run my ankle was still very tender but not as bad as yesterday. I still limped around a little bit today but I feel like my endurance was strong throughout the run.
